It has begun.

Well it has started. The preparation for my Nooksack Archery Big Bull hunt is in full swing.
Spent 2 hours at Tacoma Sportsman Club on Thursday and I spent 8 hours there yesterday honing my archery skills. Took two trips through the first half of the walk through course.
For not having shot my bow for three months, due to some personal problems, my form was spot on as I was able to pull off a 3 shot 3" group at 100 yards. That felt really good. From here on out I will be shooting at least every other day.
Getting ready to strip some fletchings from my Gold Tips and my Carbon Revolutions. Also I will be getting some good Elk calling teqnices at the archery shop on the 25th.
I will be printing out some quad maps as we have all the quad maps for the entire state on our computers at our office. This comes in handy for planning hunts and havings maps with us when we go afield.
As I have called bulls right to me and killed them the last two years I am not to concerned about my calling abilities. I think concentrating on shooting and scouting are my two main priorities right now.
Any body have suggestions on how else to prepare for such a high profile elk tag I would be glad to consider any and all suggestion all you guys on here may have to offer.
Thanks a bunch.
P.S. My equipment for this hunt is already set.

It sounds like you've got it all covered. Each hour in the woods this August will be added to the end of your life because you'll remember the effort that went into finding the critters.

100 yards!!!
When I turned around and looked at Buck's face as he was watching he had that same look. It was quite funny looking.

Well if the bulls are as big as everybody says they are up there we will all be swimming in elk meat this year.

Just ordered a Limb Saver STS system for my bow from Joe. Next week I will give a report on how it did for noise and shock reduction.
I will also be adding an aftermarket roller cable guard.
Just a few little upgrades to help performance before the big showdown up in Nooksack.

Skagit Valley RMEF group spread fertilizer last Saturday at two of the four locations in Nookasack Unit.
We work to help elk habitat.

I don't know as I have not been home for 31/2 months. I will finally get to go home next week.
Last knight I was thinking about what deer attractant I need to get and put out. Hopefully I can pull in a big boy for late september after Nooksack is done.
