New trail cams
« on: April 11, 2021, 01:24:30 PM »
Hey everyone, I'm looking to get a couple new trail cameras but I'm not sure which ones are good and which are a waste of money. I'm looking for something preferably under $100.

Stealth cam is all I’ve ever used, never had a problem. Just bought some wild game innovation to give a go but haven’t put them in the field yet.

Moultrie, bushnell and cuddeback have been my go to cams.   I recently bought two bogpod clandestine cameras.  I have them hung and will be checking them in a couple weeks.  I have super high hopes for them as the test the trials at the house turned out well.

For the price you mention, I would be looking at the moultrie a700 series or bushnell core series.

Whats available in cigarette pack size or smaller ?  Keep waiting for good hidden ones - can't be that hard?  Skip interface and screen and just use phone to see/control, aaa's or remote battery.  Anything out there yet?

Okay, thanks guys! I'll probably try out a stealth cam and see how that does.

Wild Game is all I use now. Over 5 years on some of them and no issues.

I've used cuddeback, Bushnell, stealthcam,  and moultrie, I will not buy anything other than moultrie again. I had problems with all, but very few with the moultrie cams. :twocents:

I've got at least 10 of the sub $50 stealth cams from camo-fire out.  Only had one of them fail so far.  My first few cameras were more expensive, and have been great, but I prefer Buying 4 cameras to the price of 1 now.  I currently have 17 out, and am hoping to check my first one of the year this weekend.  Have another 5 sitting in the cupboard that I have plans to put out this year too.  I think I'm addicted.  :)

Can’t speak to the stealth cams but my experience with really cheap cams is you get horrible night and motion pics.  Any cam will take decent pics in good daylight conditions.

Not awesome, but adequate for the most part.  Day pictures are great, but there's definitely a difference between my $250 bushnell/ moultrie and the cheapos when it comes to night pictures.  Still prefer quantity over quality as my goal is simply to find target animals and areas.

I have ran several different cams the last to years the top two cams have been coverts and Suspect cams.. now that ive used them side by side i love the suspect cams over the coverts. the price is $100 for the hoots and they are a a liny bit bigger then a wallet. The day and night videos are absolutely incredible also on the suspects.
