30-06 magazine question
« on: April 24, 2009, 03:18:49 PM »
I have a magazine for a 30-06 that came to me in a box full of ammo and stuff from my grandfathers gun safe after he passed.  I have no idea what gun it came from, I didn't know he had an 06.  Anyone recognize it or how should I go about identifying it's home?  Take it to a gun shop?

Looks like a clip from a remington Semi-Auto rifle.  There are many models that it could be but they are Remington 7400, 742, and 740 and there is a bunch of them in between those.  We have a 7400 and it looks the exact same as that.

i think the mags are the same for all of the different models, just vary for caliber.
pump, semi, etc.

I could use it if you don't want it since my grandma has two guns that use those clips and tends to lose them all the time.
