Optics Planet Sucks
« on: April 13, 2021, 08:53:30 AM »
I opened an account because they showed .30-30 in stock and while ordering a 5-10 day lead time to fill. Ordered 4 boxes. Email confirmation came saying expected due date was 07/05/2021. Checked again today - 07/11/2021.

I understand the ammo shortage is definitely a thing. But always tell the customer what to expect. These guys suck.

Seems to be a common opinion of them these days, I haven't used them and definitely don't plan to

If you can find a courier, I’d give you a box. I bought a few for the brass when they were cheap. I don’t want to deal with shipping, but if you can find a ride for it from Enumclaw it’s yours. I’m out of town tonight- Monday, but it’s available anytime after that if you want it.

I have never used Optics Planet - but have used EuroOptics for a few scopes and they were awesome to work with and fast delivery!

Seems to be a common problem right now. These companies probably have "good enough" inventory systems that fail under high demand.

Up until last year optics planet was a great site to order from.  I am in the same boat with one item.  It has soured me and I will not use them again.  I wouldn’t be surprised if they go out of business because of this....heck, they may already be out of business.    :chuckle:

They are dead to me!!

Funny, those are the same due dates posted on an order I placed 2/15.   :sry:  not funny.

Keep checking Starline Brass site.  Keep a tab open, and refresh every day.  Their Out of Stock, No Backorder changes at times to Backorder's accepted.  I placed a backorder for .45 Colt brass last week in just such a manner.  I don't know when I will get it, but I am giving them a chance for their FCFS fulfillment statement.

They did that with the bowcase my wife ordered for Christmas.

They do suck.  Returned a pair of binoculars in December and waited 45 days for the $1,500 refund.   Can’t call them, they don’t answer.  Can’t email cause they give a generic response.   Wasn’t until I threatened legal action through their Facebook account that I miraculously got the refund.

I will never do business with them again.

Thanks. I have a funeral to attend this weekend and a day date with Mrs. Pianoman on Sunday. I wouldn't be able to get up there just yet.

I called last Saturday and canceled an order, I was only on hold for maybe a minute before someone answered.

Good for them, but I’ll never be a customer.  Perhaps they are focusing on customer service now that most internet reviews are trending sharply downward.    I canceled my order too, but the binos still shipped and I ended up in the mess I experienced.  Hope you don’t experience the same.

Cameralandny if you want customer service and competitive prices.

Love OP. Ordered some .30-06 Lapua brass in January and had it by summer. What's not to love?

I did get a rangefinder there a few years back; it was the best deal going. Then I got another 10% back in their OP bucks so that was nice.
Kindly do not attempt to cloud the issue with too many facts.

Sounds like it has really gone downhill.  I probably have ordered a couple dozen times over the years.  Shipping is slow, prices are good to great on the stuff I ordered.  I sent one thing back, took a while and got the credit.

I appreciate others posting here that the current situation is different, I will not be rolling the dice with these guys.

5% seems awfully generous of them 🤔.

Try not to spend it all in one spot.
