Picking up 3 dozen quail tomorrow.
They will die in the mouth of my 8 week old Chessie pup.

16' x 32' bird pen about done.
Then it's time to incubate Pheasant eggs and raise birds.

Gonna be a lot of feathers and death coming up.

Where are you getting them from I’m interested I have an 8 week old lab pup

I would find the closes poultry auction to you and check it out.  There should be tons of quail at these auctions in a couple months.

I'm not sure what the deal is currently with the rona limits, but you might find some at the enumclaw sales pavilion. It's a weekly livestock auction house in the claw.

Are you getting any eggs yet?  My buddy has a dozen hens and they are not laying yet.  Probably to early but they should start any day now I would think.

@Bigshooter we have been getting eggs from the coturnix for about a week (no lights) nothing from the bobwhites or mountains yet, likely another 3 to 5 weeks for them, though a good stretch of sunny weather changes everything! Been getting ringneck eggs for a few weeks, do not remember ever getting them in February!!

Sorry I missed this. We’ve been getting eggs all along but my wife has light on them. I just put them all in the new coop and the celadons that lay the blue eggs have stopped laying. The new birds are still young but at least one of them is laying an egg pretty much every day. She just has a mini string of LED christmas light type lights hanging in the front of the coop doors.
