I don’t like lights on my pistols. I don’t like lasers on my pistols, both reasons go back to I would rather not give away my position.
All of my pistols have Trijicon night sights. Not because they work better then stock white paint, most times they do not if your pistol is kept holstered, or in a dark location where the Trijicons can’t get a good charge. Most times they are no better then plain white.
But because I got a really good deal on them, LOL
Yes they say you can send them back for a “recharge” been there done that, that lasts about two weeks. They do work a bit, but they are not much better then white when you shoot with them in dark conditions.
I will be re-painting my daily carry back to white when I think of of it.

Everyday carry out and about Shield with stock sights. At home night time defense. Lc9 with crimson trace.

Well I have been packing 30 years now. Started out with a 38 sw ,than a Judge, than a 9mm SVe, than two Bonds in shoulder holster, than to a LCP 380.

I find my self using now the Bonds a lot. But the LCP ends up in my pocket every day. It’s just easier to CC, and lighter to pack.

Trijicon XR sights.  During the day, they look like hackathorns with blacked out rear and orange front dot.  In low light, they glow.  I like these sights because the front sight is thinner than other sights.  For light, I carry a handheld flashlight. 

I am very pleased with the Trijicon HD XR sights for the same reasons.

From my experience in LE, you won’t give up your position if you know how to use the light.  In an HD or even CCW situation, you’re in a different world than the military and much more like LE.  The weapon light is used in tandem with a handheld.  It also guarantees the ability to see your target if you can’t find your handled for whatever reason.

If in a building, illuminate the room by shining the handheld to the ceiling.  This will get you complete illumination if using at least 300 lumens in a room.  This keeps you from being tunnel visioned.  Once you see the bad guy, you can challenge them and even coerce at gunpoint.  This allows you to turn the gun light on and use your other hand to call for help.  Or, worse yet, it lets you drop the handheld to shoot two handed.

If outside in public, again it keeps you from being completely in the dark if you need your other hand for something else.

Its always a good thing to see what you’re shooting at.
