Elk College
« on: April 24, 2009, 07:48:23 PM »
I meant to post this here and posted in the elk forum on accident. A lot more relevent on this page

Just signed up for Elk College at XXX Archery in Rainer. This is going to be an excellent class put on by Rockie Jacobsen of Bugling Bull game calls and Jim Horn. They have a list if anyone is interested in the class call the shop and get in on it. It is an all day class and the shop is going to provide lunch. I think the cost is $125 and is money well spent for a good calling class.

I also had XXX build new strings and cables for my Guardian and they are awesome. This was the first time I have been up to this shop but I will definately be going back for other equipment and service on my bow.

Here is the flyer we are putting out for the class... It'll be a good time!  We have some nice new calls coming out this year - they look great, and sound even better!

Question on your Guardian - why didn't you get some Winners Choice Strings, and why do you have your quiver mounted that far forward out over your sight?  I would think that would throw off the balance of the bow pretty good... Just a thought..

yes lets see some dates, and they are going to assist us with the elk calling? I have been to Rockies seminar before it was very informative but you did not get to practice with him helping and assisting, so is he going to be doing it with this college one??

Thanks

I had a set of Winners Choice on it and decided to try the Strings from XXX. Have heard great things about them so wanted to give them a try. So far I like what I have seen, haven't shot it a lot since I just got them today. Have shot about 20 shots and it is pretty much right on where it was with the old strings.

As far as the mounting of the quiver, I know there was a reason for it being that far forward at the time but I can't remember what it was. It does balance fine though.

Yes, they are just east of the Bridge. Real easy to find.

Great. Thanks.

I'm pretty sure Jim Horn has is own stuff going on in addition to working with Primos. Check out his calling CDs...good stuff.
