Nevada Muzzy Elk!
« on: May 22, 2021, 08:41:42 AM »
My buddy and I put in for muzzleloader NV elk with 15 points and I got skunked but my buddy was selected. Unit 72-74 Sept 17th. Both of us are retired so the scouting will begin soon. If anyone has hunted this or has any good pointers please let me know. Thanks in advance.

Well leaving tomorrow for the first scouting trip to the Jarbidge. Great timing with record heat coming. Should be interesting.

Mary's basin I'd start there.  You'll need a 4wd to make it to the top but you can access the wilderness there.  The rut starts there.  Also elk mt. Is good.

Good tip thank you. Made it to both of these spots and saw 3 good bulls but one of them is going to be a giant. The Jarbidge is some great country, never been in it before. Wish I had been putting in for muley and speed goats. Saw a couple of really good bucks. This should be a great hunt come September. Thanks again.
