Question for Pistol Reloaders

Hi guys, I'm dipping my toes in the water so to speak with reloading for my pistols. My stash of bulk ammo has finally dwindled down and fortunately I have had all the components for quite some time. I'll be loading for 9mm, 10mm, 357, and 45acp, the powders I have are Blue Dot, Bullseye, Unique, and Power Pistol. FWIW I'm using plated and cast bullets

 I'm not looking for specific load data, just preferred powders. Yes, I do have reloading manuals, just seeking knowledge from the hive...

With the current state of getting components I prefer to experiment as little as possible with what works for each caliber. Of the powders I have, what has been your favorite powder for each of these calibers?

Looks to me like you have what you need, now its just a matter of what your guns like.

I am a big fan of Unique powder.

That said, when it comes to handgun, I am not too picky on powders - I figure that I am such a bad shot with a handgun - slight variations in powder accuracy are overwhelmed by my lack of skill.

I like Blue Dot for 10mm.  Doesn't meter the best but it shoots great; clean, low recoil, high velocity.

Unfortunately, we probably need more info to make a good recommendation. Progressive loader with auto powder? Hand weigh? Some powders meter better than others, so that makes a difference.
Do you want to load hot? Medium? Light?
In the guns you will be shooting, which are auto, revolver, or single shot?
That will all help folks to give you better answers.

I use a ton of unique and love it most all my pistol rounds.  If I want a hotter round for a magnum pistol I run H110 or W296 of which you have neither. 

Have also used power pistol with good luck but not currently using any because I love my unique.

Light loads for sure. I was planning to do maybe 20 rounds of each and weigh individually with my RCBS Charge Lite. Then once I feel good about everything use my lock n load. Pistols consist of XD's, XDM, 1911's and similar semi and 1 revolver.

I reload both 9 and .357 with Bullseye.  At the end of the day, most of my reloading is for 7-10 yard shots so as long as it goes bang and nothing gets stuck in the barrel it all works about the same.

If you don't already have the dies I have a set of 38/357 dies that I'd be willing to sell.
I'm also a fan of unique,  meters nice in an RCBS powder measure for my 45 acp and 45 colt

Totally depends on what and what for.... unique and bullseye are the old standbys and will work but are extremely dirty. I won't touch the stuff personally but have been highly used for many years.

I prefer the Vihtivouri powders, N320 and N340, Titegroup is one of the most popular pistol powders in recent time. Winchester 241 is older but a fantastic 45acp powder. HP-38 and autocomp are both great....

Looks like you're correct, some might be a little dirty than others but it's practice ammo. Time to get to work!
