Yes A Strange question
« on: May 31, 2021, 05:00:26 PM »
Ok this will be my first time elk hunting and know that at one ti.e there were herds of elk in this area, however not so many of recent times I'm told that there are still some the area so gonna give it a try.
Any opi ions on which this is, dumped within reasonable distance of elk frequented hay fields
Of course can't do anything the easy way so maki g it even tougher on myself by using archery this year.
.y question is how much difference is there between elk poo and moose poo? From what I can find is elk poo is larger than deer and moose is larger than elk, but can't find anything that says approximate length or width or if it is distinctly different.  The pictures I have seen the elk and moose both look very similar in size and shape.
Any opinions as to which this is? Located within a reasonable distance of elk frequented hay fields

big difference in size between elk and moose poop.  What you are looking at is either elk or deer.

Moose is oval and the size of jumbo grapes.  Elk often looks like milk duds.   Definitely moose in your pict.

Really hard to tell without something in the pic for size reference like a quarter or something small we can judge it by.

Now if your just going on color of it I’m leaning toward moose, but who knows how long that stuff has been sitting there getting bleached out. :dunno:

Was about the size of my index finger from tip to first knuckle., going back to the area in about 2 weeks to check camera, will drop a quarter next to it or one of the several other piles.

I don't get excited unless it still has that thin lubricant film on the turds, that dries very quickly and turns almost like a membrane.

Might be porky based upon size and material. Seems a bit small for moose.

Remember the guy that said moose poo round vs oval is the difference between male/female?  Pendoreilleadventures IIRC, not sure if thats true,,,,, Looks like moose poop to me.
