Simms Tributary Waders
« on: June 08, 2021, 08:30:43 AM »
Anyone ever try a pair of these Simms Tributary Waders? Looking for a pair that won't break the bank (sub $200). Based on what I've read on other forums the cheapest Simms are better than the middle-of-the-product-line Frogg Toggs, Redington, etc. that fall into that price point.

If they carry the same warranty go for it. I’ve always said you get what you pay for. Never had a Simms product I didn’t like.

What I’ve found with waders is if you walk a lot and beat brush they will all leak sooner then expected. Boat fishing mostly they last a long time. I had some reddingtons last seven years without leaking, zipper finally failed most likely due to operator error.

Reminds me of the day when I could get hodgeman waders and boots for under a $100. It was an annual purchase with shoe goo in addition.

Following this as I've been looking at the same waders.

" In today's instant gratification society, more and more pressure revolves around success and the measurement of one's prowess as a hunter by inches on a score chart or field photos produced on social media. Don't fall into the trap. Hunting is-and always will be- about the hunt, the adventure, the views, and time spent with close friends and family. " Ryan Hatfield

The question is always what are you using them for??  As mentioned, if warrantied Sims are good.  Their lower end are actually no better then some of the others at that price.  I have a pair of hodgman's H3 breathable I paid about $175 for and love them..  That said I only use them in and out of boat and river/bank fishing.  Not a lot of brush pounding.

Probably not pounding any brush. Mostly for the boat and float tube.
