I bet my son he couldn't land one on the ice fishing rod.  I think they would also be very fun on kokanee gear.

We have a barbie rod tournament every pink season. Only rules are that you have to use a cartoon themed rod as equipped from the store. Biggest fish wins.

In Sitka a couple years ago I'd cast into the schools rolling on the surface with a red and white daredevil. I think I went seven casts in a row that I hooked a fish. Could see schools swim by under the water that wouldn't take anything, but the ones up top, fish on!

I love it
What country can preserve it's liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon & pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots & tyrants.

I've landed many on my 7' trout noodle rod. It is the absolute definition of a noodle. It's fun for a bit and then turns into work. When it comes to pinks I like the happy medium of power and lightweight so I can get them in and get to casting again! Really hoping to get my son, he'll be 4 then, onto a few of them to crank in.
I hunt, therefore I am.... I fish, therefore I lie.

They are annoying while targeting silvers in August/Sept. We toss all of them back.
The things that come to those who wait, may be the things left by those who got there first!

Do you get spooled?  That's what I'm thinking will happen with the ice fishing rod, you just have about zero leverage to turn it's head.  I think it has 6# line or somewhere around there.

Starrigavin Creek in the mid 80's literally plugged with those dog gone things, it was fun to watch  :)

There were so many in the Dungeness River a few years back that the schools upstream depleted the oxygen and it was killing the later running fish.

It was fun watching a Big King work it's way through the rocks back in the early 80's on that river!  :)

I haven't yet. But there's always a first time. The boat operator has to be on his game while fishing the tourney
