question for you guys to keep you occupied while We all wait.
explain to me how the #2 #3 #4 selection choices work. I've only ever drawn my #1 choice. how is it you end up with a 2,3,4 selection? I have never had it explained. I have put in for the additional choices before, just never draw.
if You don't want to explain, a link to a good explanation would help out too.
Thanks

WA looks at all of your choices before they move on to the next applicant. You have just happened to have always had tags available for your #1 choice.

I believe that if your name is drawn and there are no tags left for your first choice you would get the next choice in line that tags were available. I could be way off base though.

Each "name in the hat" is assigned a random number from 1 to infinity.  So let's take 6.5's sheep for example. Say out of all his entries his highest number is 3. No idea how many cliff tags there are but let's say there are 2. The guys asigned numbers 1 and 2 both had cliff as their first choice so they would get the two cliff tags.  so when they got to 6.5's application his first choice has no available tags therefore they move on to his second choice and so on and so on.

:yeah:  I have been a witness the last two years and this is exactly right.  Well done sir.

There have been discussions and I think it would be really helpful if it came true to do a write up/powerpoint presentation with a link that could be posted on the WDFW site explaining the draw in detail.

Out of the 4 quality tags I've pulled in this state only 1 was my top choice.  Moose was 4th choice, elk and deer were 3rd choices.  Sheep was the only one that was my first choice.  How the draw works is explained pretty well in this thread.
