They 'gave' 5 tags in an area where millions have been spent to eliminate them?  Hit teams were recruited to kill a few also and the state still ran a draw?  YIKES, welcome to WDFW

Pretty sure the "hit teams" were not authorized to cull goats outside the park boundaries. That's where these hunts will take place. I didn't apply for these hunts, but I'm not upset that they made them available. Best of luck to the fortunate tagholders!

Yeah there's nothing wrong with getting a tag there and hunting them. I just was under the impression that the population was pretty much gone. I don't know that even a hundred would be encouraging enough to hunt there. Does anyone know definitively if that's true about not culling beyond the park boundary?

The teams were inside the park only. they already started areal execution by helicopter outside the park and will continue that next year inside and out to kill all remaining.
I have the c permit. It’s going to be extremely tough.

They ran a draw for a hunt in a different area that doesn’t impact your OIL points in a situation where you don’t have to put together a freaking SEAL team of 4-6 people, get interviewed and possibly get selected and blindly assigned an area you can’t scout or explore or anything ahead of time. Seems reasonable. The best part is that it gives you the opportunity to kill 2 goats in WA without having to buy an auction tag or dump a bunch of $$ into the raffles.

Exactly jackelope odds are against us still but I know I’m going to give it hell. Not many times in your life you can say your goat scouting.
