Anybody have any experience of accessing the desert unit from the potholes reservoir via boat?

I have not hunted it that way because i have never drawn the tag.. that said figuring out some high dunes could be helpful and i have chased deer with my boat in the summer.

In archery we have something like the way of the superior man. When the archer misses the center of the target, he turns round and seeks for the cause of his failure in himself.

The water is low in fall. Not easy to get back there.

Usually not enough water in the fall to make it worthwhile. I brought mine a couple years back and it was a lawn ornament at my campsite that I had to worry about while I was out hunting.

What tag? For late archery the duck hunters are pretty thick in the dunes. I did not see much for deer nearby the res when I had the late tag.

Seen a guy poaching, oops I mean coyote hunting from a boat during a deer season in there a few years ago while helping a buddy.  He said he was coyote hunting but looked nervous when he saw me standing there, lol.  The water looked fine at the time, actually thought it was a good idea, quiet.

Early rifle tag October 23-31st.  It was my second choice. 15 points

I had the same tag 3 or 4 years ago.  And been out there some dinking around  Not sure I would bother with a boat.  There are so many access points and it is easy to cover a lot of ground.  I dont profess to be an expert in the unit but pm me and ill tell you what I know.
