[quote author=bwgdc I am already feeling a huge void in the house with her gone and thinking I need to get another bird dog. I am leaning toward an English pointer but I know very little on breeders for them I don’t want a puppy does anyone know of a good line of them and someone who is selling a finished dog?
[/quote]

So bwgdc, Did you find a new English Pointer to replace your "Britt Best Hunting Partner"?

I feel your pain.  My dogs Final day is getting very close, it's actually probably here and I'm just being selfish keeping her alive.  She's still eating, but has trouble walking, can't hear, can barely see.  It's hard seeing her the way she is, but she still greets me with a wagging tail when I get home from work after she finally sees me.
