If you are looking to build an AR, I've been noticing that you can find stripped lowers readily available. Parts kits are hard to find, and even harder to find are the Upper Receivers...They are 3-36 months out depending on which company you go with...The gunshop I work at has S&W, Charles Daly, and Tactical Innovations lowers as we speak. As previously stated, prices are getting outrageous, but if you are looking for a quality rifle at a decent price, Del-Ton is running about 900, otherwise, I can't seem to find or hear of rifles for less than 1000 anywhere

M&A parts has still got complete kits for a decent price.  Their website always shows out of stock but they actually have quite a bit of stock or they did a few weeks ago.  You just have to call, and wait times have been at about a month the last time I heard.

I ordered my upper from Stag Arms back in February and was quoted at 25 weeks for the backorder.  Recently there was a post about Del-Ton on AR15.com that they were backordered 20,000 rifles!  Currently they are filling orders that were placed in early November. I'm on the fence about ordering a 2nd kit to build an M4 clone.  If I order it now it should be here by Christmas!

If you are looking for something to have right now, be prepared to pay top dollar (crazy prices down at the Puyallup show this past weekend).  If now, just be prepared to be very patient.
