What kind of berries are you seeing?  Seems early for huckleberry and blueberry.   The little strawberries might be on though.
:yeah:  the little strawberries were great about 3 weeks ago around 3,000 ft, man those are good!

No ripe berries, just lots of berries growing. The blueberries that have been out of snow the longest still appear to be a month out from ripening. Lots of blue berry bushes up there are still under snow or just flowering. There were some ripe or close to ripe salmon berries down at lower elevation near the trailhead though.

Hit the Methow high country yesterday myself. Few grouse is all.

Awesome country! Did you notice what the bears were doing in the open? Was there any food source?

They are definitely chowing. Not sure on what. Lots of forbes and grass for them to eat up there right now. Scat definitely composed of course organic matter.
