Drew a tag in #133 need info
« on: July 13, 2021, 12:22:38 AM »
I drew a modern rifle (disabled) antlerless mule deer tag for Roosevelt #133. I have hunted whitetail in this unit but the one spot I have doesn't have much in the way of mule deer. I have been trying to get over there from my place in Wenatchee to do some scouting but it hasn't worked out. My idea was to start at Grand Coulee and work my way east. I know there is hardly any public land. Any help will be much appreciated.

Plenty of decent public land around here.  Introduce yourself a bit and folks will be more willing to try and help out some.

Teleford is a good place to try.  Gets hunted hard but there is deer in there.
Right wing shooter, I aim for the left!!!

Nowhere in your incoherent rambling did you come close to what can be considered a rational thought. Everyone is now dumber having heard it. I award you no points and may God have mercy on your soul.

OnX maps show a ton of places to hunt in 133 provided you are willing to do some walking.

I was thinking the same thing.
If your looking for public land can't really beat OnX.

Sorry in advance if this comes across wrong. You mentioned you drew a disabled tag; are you able to walk/hike into places? I haven't spent much time in 133 but it looks like there is a bunch of BLM, and a few chunks of state land that could be accessed if you are able to walk up out of a cliff.
What country can preserve it's liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon & pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots & tyrants.

There’s some hunt by written permission by Keller’s ferry that might be worth looking into…

Like mentioned OnX or Basemaps or any other mapping service works well, there's plenty of state, hunt by res, feel free to hunt land that holds antlerless. Also don't be afraid to knock on doors as there are a few farmers that will be more than happy to let a disabled person shoot a doe.

Welcome to the forum tell us a little about yourself.
I am 78 Washington native, my passion has always been hunting and I have done that from Sitka to the Kalahari Desert, and a lot of places in between. Shot centerfire, muzzleloading and rimfire competition. Still active in .22 benchrest matches.
Not as much into trophy animals anymore but I love venison so getting meat in the freezer is still a priority.
Thanks for asking.

Welcome to the forum.

I'd hunt the Telford Road BLM and the nearby Sterett Road chunks of BLM.  I drove hwy 2 to work for several years and always saw mule deer near there.

There's also good access to public lands off of Redwine Canyon and Miles Creston roads.  Door knocking can be productive too, and you may be able to talk a farmer into helping you with a tractor for the recovery.

Best of luck in your season and and to getting your freezer filled.

Call the EWA Bio in spokane. These tags are partially due to deer numbers near agriculture. I'd be there's a couple farms that would be very good with an older disabled guy taking one of the regulars off a wheat field.  Write a couple letters to some of those folks out there or go nock a couple doors.  Kids and the elderly have a far better shot at permission.

if all you want is to shoot a doe, id be willing to bet that you will find more private land guys saying "yes" rather than "no". tell them you have a disabled antlerless tag, and that you have no desire to shoot a buck, and they prob will drive you out in their personal truck and let you shoot one.
