Spearfishing questions - gearing up

Speared a few fish for sure....even took two big cabezon with my dive knife
 I used a pneumatic cressi sub with a rock tip. When us8ng3a wetsuit i liked scubapro and soon had a custom dui drysuit. Never got as hardcore as Rob but have a few dives under my belt for sure.

holy crap 7mm wetsuits use a lot of weight

Yeah, I learned in a 7 mm as well, vest, hood and an enormous amount of weight.  It was ok to get on for the first dive, but not so much fun putting it on wet.  Going to a drysuit was like a completely different experience.

gotta lube up         I used to use sunscreen or soap but have since learned it's hard on wetsuits.   I have waterskied in April...in lake Roosevelt 



I don't see anyone using a drysuit to freedive 

and they're very expensive

It was decent...I'd simply swim the bouy line and dive down to bug a ling or two. Never really went much past 20 or 25 feet.....when that exposed you enter pre hypothermia pretty easily and just have to really pay attention to vitals and cognitive abilities.  Still gotta swim to shore and then your core temps drop, the shakes hit, and you begin the recovery.  Good stuff

Very cool. I believe most freedive suits have a pad in the chest to help brace banded guns for loading.
