He is the best IMO. But I think his nose is the wrong color  :chuckle: Kidding. I would like to go to one of his ceminars some time.

Its tough to get good at something when you dont get many to work on. I got 1 lifesized Lion to do this year. It a closed mouth walking on all fours like when my budy shot it. But I did get a bunch of monster Bulls to do this year  ;)

That "saucy's cat" has a PERFECT head/face/shoulders....as good as you will EVER see! DANG!!

Check out more here...Cats are UNREAL!!!

http://www.philipsoucy.com/gallery/enlargephoto.tpl?imgname=mtnlion8.jpg&caption=

Your cat looks REALLY good for a first one.... I've seen guys that have mounted 20+ that dont do them that well. i personally think that a lion or bobcat is the hardest mount...as they are what I see commonly done poorly.. I think getting there head/face right is critical... use LOTS of good, live reference photos... or photos of this Saucy guys work!!

There is a taxidermist in Libby, MT that does the best cats I've ever seen...period. Cant think of his name right now.. Also cant remember who mounted my cat, but its awesome too... he's outta Enumclaw or somewhere near there...??

There were quite a few of Saucy's cats there at the SCI show. If you guys and gals ever get a chance to go it is well worth it. Some of the best taxidermy around. Its a great way to get ideas for mounts because everyone displaying there has went all out on the piece. And its a little entertaining to see how the "Well to do" live. I saw one gun on a table there that was selling for $174,000. For that much money it better do more than go bang, bang.

Charlie,

Got a little better pic of the cat nose. Not real pink like you thought. Just looked that way in the other lifesize pic.
