Same plan for my latest two mounts. I bought a bunch of old growth juniper boards to build the pedestal out of. Its cool looking stuff and the thought that at some point a mule deer likely used it for cover is pretty neat to me. Pretty limited on wall and floor space so a small footprint is important..  Going to be a variation of this one......

Very nice. That is similar to what I will be making. I’m not sure that mine will turn out looking a great as that, but time will tell. Please post pics when you get it done I would love to see it.

I guess that makes sense, to get him up the stairs, you only need to remove one antler... was that a half-price deal?

I cost $300 to make the one antler detachable and fix the nose which had cracked from being in storage for 2 years. it's expensive but way cheaper than a remount
