Sometimes early success is way better... can't imagine the anxiety of having that tag in my pocket for a couple months...I would be worthless... plenty of other ways to spend quality time in the woods..

I knew I was going to get one. The season and rules I was allowed to play by were just so liberal there was no way I would eat this tag.

It was really important to me to get one with a bow and I am starting to feel like that may have been my one really good opportunity.  The frontal shot was not what I wanted and boy did I regret that right up until I found him dead.

Such a roller coaster of emotions but I am really glad that it all worked out even though it ended so soon.

Looks like you hit him hard. How much penetration did you get ?

16-18”. Arrow was still in him. Every step it was moving just cutting up the inside of his chest.
