Tikka Rifles

How good are they?  Best bang for the buck? 

Looking at the 7-08, 25-06 and 300wsm

Anyone shooting one of these?  What bullets do they prefer?

Anyone dislike them thats actually had one?

I have the tikka in 25-06.

It's real accurate with 100 grain nosler partitions and also with 115 grain barnes TSX. I am using IMR4350 and IMR4320 for powder. In fact almost anything I have shot out of it is fairly accurate.

I chose it because of pricing. It certainly is not a sako but it should do fine. The main thing which I disliked was the platic bolt shroud. Other than that it seems to be good.

There are a lot of rifles to choose from. Depends on what you like. I have not shot anything but squirrels with it yet.

How fast are you pushing those?   With job security or lack there of I'm looking at the tikka(great price) as everyone I've talked with(4 guys) accuracy was excellent outa box.  Figure the 300wsm would definatly need a limbsaver.

everyone that I know that has a tikka loves them to death!  If I was buying one it would be either .308 or 300wsm...  the 300 is probably the most versatile round I have seen in a long time.

I think the 300 WSM would be a nice caliber to have.

One of the things which I was looking for was a fairly light rifle as well. That turned me away from some other rifles. You might want to look at the savage rifles as well. I certainly would not overlook them. Although there were a few details which turned me away from one of their models I am sure some other ones that are probably in a similar category.

I have one in the 300 wsm. I'm using Nosler E-Tips going just over 3000fps. I haven't had any problems with it after I replaced the factory scope rings.

i just ordered a tikka t3 hunter in .243 winchester... should be picking it up on thursday or friday. i've shot a friend's tikka t3 lite stainless in 7mm mag and liked it. he can consistently shoot groups under or around 1" at 100yds. i don't know what ammo he was using at the time, but i saw the targets.

I have a Tikka T3 Lite in both .243 and 300WSM. I love em... wouldn't trade them for any other gun.

I have a t3 light and really like it. It packs nice on the long hunts and shoots real well. I shoot the win. silver ballistic tips(300wsm) for deer-my gun seems to like them the best....

Never shot one.  Handled gobs of em.  Have heard about 99% (+) feedback from guys who own em.

They're not my cup of tea though.  I just don't like all the molded less refined look and feel of the guns.  Just my  .  But again, no objective performance reason to not buy one.  Don't really like Gloks either but hard to argue w/ their performance.  Kinda the same thing.

If you can get past the cheapest feeling/sounding stock in the industry,cheap plastic clips, one size action fits all,ie, 7/08, 243 etc will have a long action, and a plastic bolt shroud, you should be happy with its performance...  The 2 I've owned, and the 10+ others I've been around have all shot good.

a can of expanding spray insulating foam does WONDERS for the sound/feel of the stocks...and some epoxy in the forend with shot in it if needed.

I purchased the T3 for my son in 7-08 and love the thing!!! It really shoots nice and would purchase another one in an instant!!

Just make sure you get the right caliber for what you are going to use it for!

Then it ain't a T3 Lite anymore.. grin.. Save up a couple hundred more bucks, get yourself a used kimber or weatherby ultra lightweight.

the foam adds less than 3 oz and quiets the stock very well.  ony reason to use epoxy is to set a swivel where one is needed. or to change balance.
