Back from Ixtapa

Well so far I am swine flu free! We had a great time. I fished 3 days and out of those three 2 were inshore and one was offshore. The first day was awesome! The water was literally boiling with fish. We caught over 40 between the two of us that day. The offshore trip we got skunked but did see a whole lot of sea turtles and porpoises. The last day I went by myself. We went back to the same spot as we did before and holy crap! I caught around 60 fish and was literally tired of catching fish. I caught a 18lb jack crovalis (spelling?) as well as sierra, bonito, chula, needle fish. I took my steelhead gear with me and OH MY GOD those jacks are the hardest fighting fish in the world! It took me over 45 minutes to get him in. I also got spooled by what was thought to be a jack. I had my ambassador 5501 with 200 yards of 12lb. When it hit I tightend the drag all the way and thumbed him til it was smoking. It was no more than 10 seconds and so long line and lure. It was crazy! Also Rapala's out fished live bait 10-1. We also saw some crocks and Iguanas are everywhere! The picture of the water is the surf about 12 inches from my camera on the ground! Oh and no molesting animals in Mexico!

No those are called white rocks and for good reason. They have thousands of years of brown boobie (bird) *censored* on them and it stinks to high hell! Oh ya and I also caught two of those feathered *censored*s! No go on the shaving man. It will hang around until the end of Dec. with no cutting!

Cool place isn't it? Looks like you had a great time.
I like Zihuatanejo more than Ixtapa. Next time I go down I'll stay in the old town. Some great fishing right off the beach. My favorite place on the Pac side of Mexico.
