Great to read all the opinions.  Thanks all.  One correction.  Brian Kertsen is NOT in the enforcement program.

He's the lead on the predator prey project.

So The Dark Side is running the predator prey study? Great... when do we start assigning Empire nick names?

I'd like to add a little information here.

Less than 30% of WDFW employees hunt or fish, less than 7 in 10 have ever even thought about harvesting anything from the wild. Sickening but true. WDFW thumbs it's nose at those who do.
I would like to throw in here, ASHQUACK is kind of right, I’m older than most you folks on here by a long shot, I remember the Game Department”, they were ALL hunters or fisherman, I can truly tell you I never met a “Game Department “employee  who didn’t hunt, hell, many would come to our camp to swap movements, they ALL hunted. This is no longer the Game Department, myself and others have talked, told stories and tried to bridge the gap. The folks who are within WDFW are a different breed, maybe some of the boots on the ground, a few bio,s etc may be on the side of hunters but that role call is dwindling. WDFW is an extension of our Governor and his policies, we got what we got, elections are coming, 2022, 2024.
:yeah: and once again, it comes down to azz hats voting for dems…. Getting old.
“In common with”..... not so much!!

Very mixed bag of people at WDFW
1)Care about wildlife not hunters
2)Care about hunters not wildlife.
3)care about wildlife and hunters 50/50
Then Alot of them in between all of it.
I didn't read the emails but I stop emailing them a while back, and trying to keep it that way.

You have forgotten a group that is fairly large from personal experience
4)Care about pay day and look towards retirement by never taking a position that will get them noticed.

I'm not sure how much weight I would put in the dark side comment. There is great concern with biased science, this is not an accusation (yet). There has to be accountability and standards. I also agree with others on this thread that remember the game department.  The face of the wdfw has changed as have many of their funding sources.  They now serve a much broader constituency than the hook and bullet crowd, failure to recognize this will only delay progress where it can be made.

I'm not so sure on the predator/prey Project.
If I was a betting man,
I'd bet that the project will show a perfect predator /prey balance with unicorns and rainbows everywhere.
May or may not happen ,but that my opinion.

:yeah: Of course they are, that's their main interest, they are predator worshippers! The head of the USFWS went to work for a leading anti-hunting group after she transplanted wolves from Canada into the lower 48.  :dunno: :dunno:

WDFW are in the agenda, and they are killing off your food with the protection of predators....

Perhaps I latched onto The Dark Side Label a little too much... but I kind of couldn't help but look up pics of the people in question to see if they resembled characters

Ok maybe it's a stretch to say that Candace Bennett looks like Sam Wessell the shape shifting bounty hunter, or Richard Beausoleil looks like Jengo Fett. If they don't have dark side Nick names for each other does that mean we can assign them?  :chuckle:

I read the emails and I guess I am missing something.

I see a bunch of offended wdfw folks who are indignant with the sherrif dpt encroaching on what they see is their turf.  With some snarky emails between each other

While I dont disagree with many opinions on this thread,  I am not seeing a smoking gun in the emails.  Just some territorial folks mad someone is doing something they should be doing.

What am I missing (not being sarcastic-honest question)
