“Good deal” at cabelas
« on: August 28, 2021, 09:35:29 AM »
Just ordered online a bare bones savage rifle with a cheap
Scope for $309 on sale plus it has a $50 doller rebate so 259 plus tax.  Got the youth model for the kiddo.   Swore I’d never set foot in cabelas again, let alone try to buy a gun there.   Guess I’m a sucker for a good deal

They don't have a deal good enough that would make me want to purchase another firearm from them.  Worst experience ever.

That is a great deal for someone looking to get a kid out.
Pain is temporary, achieving the goal is worth it.

I didn't say it would be easy, I said it would be worth it.

Every father should remember that one day his children will follow his example instead of his advice.

That is a great deal. I'll bet the kid will be thrilled.

Picked it up yesterday around 3:00. Pretty slow that time of day.  Counter guy was helpful.  Still took around 40 minutes as he had three other employees check my paperwork and ask the same questions, seems like overkill but whatever.  No ammo to be had.  Seems like a nice little rifle.  Kid likes it and wife thinks it’s nicer then my other rifles which is a little disheartening

I got two of the savage axis rifles for right about the same price few years ago.
There good little rifles . For the money you can't beat it.
The 308 I got is a tack driver.
The 243 not a tack driver but it still gets the job done.
You'll be happy with the purchase ,after you let some lead fly.

Just ordered the .243 for my daughter. Thanks for sharing.

I bought my kids the .270 and my daughter the .243..  They have held up against the banging around kids do and in the wet side weather..  For the price, can't be beat..  The only down side is the bolt can be a little cumbersome when ejecting/re-loading a shell.
