Can’t help but reminisce over….
« on: August 29, 2021, 10:02:32 AM »
Areas that burned this summer.  Yeah, yeah, it’s a cycle.  Well, I won’t be around in 150 years to see the next pumpkin pine in that spot with a bruiser hiding there.

I know it's upsetting, but sometimes they get bigger after a fire.
Just sayin,
We can always hope right.

We had an old hunting spot that had a big red ponderosa perched at the top of a draw the deer loved to come through. I’ll never forget seeing a big buck bedded right in front of the tree on one of my scouting trips. Later on that season my uncle shot a beautiful, dark horned buck right in front of the same tree. For years after, we referred to that spot as “The Red Tree”. It’s since grown up but this picture takes me back a few years. There’s a special place in my heart for mule deer and big ponderosa pines in the backdrop. Thanks for sharing!

They'll be back long before the pines grow up. Great pic, Doug.
