Had this guy sneak into the call and killed him at about 35 yards. I was solo, it was evening and I had a lot of work to do so I regrettably didn’t get the field photos he deserved. He aged out in the 12-13 range, was probably his last go around at the rut. Had a shoulder hump like a camel, hips like a Holstein, bad teeth and zero fat. Good run old boy I’m glad to have ya.

Wow, what beautiful symmetry and mass. Well done.

Well 2021 elk is in the books for me and my buddy this year. It all started in Montana. We started out in the breaks and although we were getting close to elk, we were out of our element. So we headed to the mountains, and the first day there my buddy harvested a very nice 6 point. I called him in to 30 yards the shot was a pass though. He died within 130 yards. The pack out was rough, 5.5 miles and took 2 days to get him out. 2 days after that I harvested another super nice 6 point that my buddy called in to 24 yards for me. The bull only ran 120 yards and piled up. Couldn’t be happier with my bull.  Then we headed back to Washington where I had a quality rifle tag.  While although there were bigger bulls in there my itchy trigger finger took a nice little 4x5. All in all, 3 bulls in 20 days total and after the first Harvest to the last only took 10 days. What a year!!!    Two Pope and Young bulls in Montana and one nice and tasty Washington cascade Roosevelt.  This great year wouldn’t have been possible without great hunting buddies and supportive family.

Well here is my bull for this year. A very heavy 6x7. It was a Colockum quality archery tag. I will do a separate thread later with the story and more pictures. My quick measurements green scored it at 370 7/8 gross.

Great bull Farmer72! Congratulations to all who've notched tags! I was so close so many times during archery season but now have to wait till Nov.

I have had a charmed fall so far. I'll do a write up giving all the credit to the guys who enabled the hunt and kill.
Kindly do not attempt to cloud the issue with too many facts.

More or less. But a lot of good bulls are killed in OTC tags as well.
