Turkey Licenses & Tags
« on: September 01, 2021, 09:22:33 AM »
Quick question: if you didn't harvest a turkey in the spring can you use the same license for a fall bird or do you have to purchase a new license. Same with the spring transport tag, can it also be used for fall if you didn't get a bird?
Thanks.

Just because I like to read my own posts I'll clarify. A small game license is issued for one full year based on the start and end date set by the State. You can hunt a variety of species with a small game license, including turkey, throughout the license year. Turkey transport tags are issued numerically in sequence, i.e. #1, #2 and so on. A transport tag is valid through the entire license year and works for both Spring and Fall if you fail to fill the tag during Spring. You can fill 3 tags in Spring and 4 in Fall for the regular OTC hunts. This provides a great opportunity to get back out and enjoy more turkey hunting in the Fall.

Great clarification, thanks SPK.
