Capitol State Forest
« on: September 10, 2021, 04:48:27 PM »
Just got back from a training rotation and looking to get into bear hunting for the first time in my life. I'm originally from Iowa and have only ever chased white tail. Not looking for anyone's secret spot just wanted solid confirmation that bears and small game exist in Capitol State Forest before I commit the next few weekends toward it. Thank you

There are definitely bears up there but it is a tough go considering all of the different user groups that use Cap peak.... look at maps, get away from the trails and finding one is possible.

I have em on trail cameras in clear cuts there. Get away from a road on a cut and you can find em.

Don't forget JBLM, I've seen them by the Madigan Gate and the wooded strip between the hospital and the  main road going to Gray field. The adventure center may point you in the right direction.  :twocents:
