Got my Dad's B&C Buck back from the taxidermist today
« on: September 07, 2021, 03:45:24 PM »
My stepfather shot this buck back in 1982 in Pend O'reille County.  It sat in our basement and shed for years until he passed away, when I inherited it.  Last year I decided to take it to Darin Fuson in 9 Mile Falls and have it put on a head.
The buck scores 189 2/8" as a non-typical and was entered in the B&C awards book when I had it officially scored about 8 years ago.  Missed all time book by less than an inch.  For the record, my Dad never had it scored when he was alive because he was primarily a meat hunter, and in his words "It won't make the books with that busted tine".

Love the mass and character.  It looks beautiful.
Pain is temporary, achieving the goal is worth it.

I didn't say it would be easy, I said it would be worth it.

Every father should remember that one day his children will follow his example instead of his advice.

Awesome buck. Pend oreille counties got some bruisers. If you drive through Newport there's a real nice whitetail in the visitors lobby at the forest service office. I see some similarities between the two bucks

I'll have to check it out next time I'm up there.  Thanks

Reminds me or my grandfather,
Couldn’t care less about some “score”
Meat on the table, more crops in the field.
Probably would have ground the antlers along with the bones for
Fertilizer or pig feed.mixer
One shot. One kill!

Way to create a lasting memory of your stepfather and an amazing buck.
People get offended at nothing at all. So, speak your mind and be unapologetic.
