In the woods for 10 days
« on: September 09, 2021, 09:56:40 AM »
Hey all you perspective borrowers out there, I'm hunting starting today and returning on Sunday the 19th. Don't be offended if I don't respond before then. Happy hunting everyone!

I spend 30 days every year in elk and deer camps back to back. Wife of 37 years pats me on the bottom and says don't come back early.

Similar here.  My wife refers to herself as a hunting widow every fall.  Granted our deal is while I go hunting with the guys she goes to Hawaii/Napa/etc. with the girls.  Win-win.   Although while I'm freezing my behind off in the woods hunting some years I ponder that she has the better end of the deal knowing she's sipping a mai tai on the beach somewhere.....

And spending money. How many times I have come home to new furniture etc.. Came home one time for supplies and the wife, neighbor lady and m-inlaw were all admiring a new table and chair set

We stayed out the whole time expected. Came back with some nice mushrooms!  :bash: I did have a good time with my new friend Alec this year. I was happy that he got some up-close personal experiences with elk. I saw a chocolate bear with a blond strip down his chest at 50 yards. No ethical shot but he was a pretty bear. We had fried chicken mushrooms, porcini, and tons of chanterelles with dinner in camp.

Must be nice to camp for 10 days sounds like a good time and good eats.

I work all year so I can hunt for a week and two days, Th-Sunday. That's all the time off I've had for two decades each year. Previously, that's all I could afford. Hopefully, the wife and I will finally go on a honeymoon this next year. Maybe not this wife, but... 8)
