I've used 8x42 and 10x42 and I prefer the 8x42 as I am usually still hunting and have no rest for my binos.

I have had the 10x42 Diamondbacks for a couple years.
So far so good.
Little dark in the deep woods but still serviceable.
Just understand that you are buying entry level glass .
Thanks.   From what I read  the HD versions are a step up from the  older  diamondbacks in clarity and glass.  But yeah they are not 700+ binos.  I just love how products that are not video screens use terms like HD.  I wonder if next years will be diamond back 4K :)

I thought about the next level up but decided for the money spent I would be better off moving up to the $1000+ price range.
Not much more then the 700 ones and a big difference in glass.
