Lost GPS
« on: September 18, 2021, 07:43:57 PM »
I know this is a long shot but wanted to try and help my son out...if anyone is hunting the Bayview Samish unit (Skagit)  for pheasants my son lost his GPS unit to track his dog...he took a youth out today for the pheasant hunt. They spent the afternoon trying to back track but no luck...it will be missing the back cover as that is still attached to the lanyard...somehow it separated itself.

Hope you find it!

I would suggest checking back every couple days if you can.  I lost a remote once and someone found it and left it in an obvious place near where I lost it.

Thanks Stein...hes pretty sick about it as he just got it :( he left a note at the parking area and I will advise him to go back and check frequently. Its not much good to anyone else with the back cover missing!

You might have him put a call in to the Skagit Wildlife Area staff 1st thing Monday on the off chance someone might find it and try to turn it in to them?

Only youth and seniors pheasant hunters are out there for the next week. So, there's decent chance it won't be discovered if he can get out there and beat the brush for it.

Fingers crossed for him!

Strangely enough if he brings the dog back out with him the dog might locate it...they love to smell their own smell... worth a shot. Good luck

There is a guy Steve Moro that found one and posted it on facebook. I hope it's yours.

might be worth it to bring a metal detector, it could pick it up in tall grass
