8/10 x 42/50 binos for west side black tail hunting.

Good Afternoon-  I am looking at getting some new binos for Hunting black tail in western wa, lake kapowsin area so lots of clear cuts.  Looking at getting some new vortex binos.  (I get nice discount at eurooptics for being a vet).  Any recommendations on what power and if getting a tripod is a good investment.   Any recommendation on a tripod setup that won’t break the bank but is easy to pack.  Thanks in advance.

Don't have vortex but I love my Swarovski 10x42 in those conditions, I hunt the same area.

Get a primos trigger stick tripod. You can mount glass, shoot from it, and use it as a walking stick. Then order an outdoorsman bino quick connect and youll be set. I glass for hours behind mine, super easy to adjust, and switching from glass to my rifle is a breeze.

I agree with most of this, except using the trigger stick as a walking stick.  I had to send mine back because a buddy borrowed them, he said he used them as a walking stick.  the next time I went to use it, one leg wouldn't extend.  I believe is says in the instructions not to use as walking sticks.  Sorry if I'm being petty, just fyi.

I've mostly used 10x in the past but I now have an 8x42 that I'm really liking. Much easier to hold steady and a wider field of view. Sometimes for hunting here on the westside I'll grab my Leupold 6x30s. Love how lightweight they are and only need one hand to hold them.

There is not likely any need for 10X in the dark blacktail woods.
Highest quality glass you can afford in 8X and if you can find 50mm objective in the Vortex line, get it for light gathering.
I personally don't need stabilizing sticks or anything for 8X, it's easier to stabilize than 10X.
Wide field of view is underrated.

Thanks but I can get upto 40% off vortex and with a lifetime warranty that’s hard to beat. So looking at the vortex HD diamondback 8/42 for 160.  I do appreciate the feedback

I'm using Vortex Viper 10x50's and have zero complaints. I mount them to an older model Vortex High Country tripod which I put a Field Optics Research FBH head on. I have the Field Optics Research rapid release for mounting the binos to the tripod for glassing which is a dream. I ended up getting the Kuiu Pro bino case because it saves weight and makes removing my binos from the chest case to the tripod seamless. Very happy with the set up, plus I have Swiss Arca mount on my rifle which allows me to remove the binos and then use the tripod for a shooting platform.

Okay going for it.   Only 20 bucks
More.  180 for vortex diamond back hd binos Seams like a food investment to me.

Yep 10x I seem to always want more power but I like my 10x42 Meostars!

I have had the 10x42 Diamondbacks for a couple years.
So far so good.
Little dark in the deep woods but still serviceable.
Just understand that you are buying entry level glass .
