Are the fires benifiting the wolve's, or other predators ?
« on: September 10, 2021, 04:10:43 PM »
Thought about this last night while not sleeping. With the fires pushing game I would assume they will bunch up in safe spots. Same with the predators I would expect. Is this like a buffet ?

Between fires, predators and blue tongue it will be a real tough go for our prey species. Yes, I think the fires benefit the wolves. There certainly is an argument that the game will be bunched in places with food and water. But the ones that hang in the burned areas will have less cover and food making them seem easier picking for predators as well.

Having hunted and so forth in our recent burns, I liken it more towards say a migration corridor as animals flee through safe areas, but not seeing evidence of bunching long term, as the animals all will disperse once they feel safe from what ever threat moves them.  Any benefit for any of the predators would be short term if anything as fires have been for ever and animals adjust in the wild.
