Humtulips pinks, kings
« on: September 23, 2021, 10:58:12 PM »
We're heading out for our first clam dig of the season and with the late digs, we'll have some time during the day for some fishing.  I've never fished the Humtulips, but I've been seeing a lot of the pinks in the Duwamish the past 2 weekends.  With the Hump being on the coast, I assume the timing is likely pretty different on the runs.  Is anyone catching pinks out there?  Is anyone catching Kings out there?  Are the water levels even high enough yet there or would I be wasting my time trying to get into some salmon? What's running this time of year and how do you like to fish them?

Thanks for any advice anyone has.

I don’t know anything about Pinks in the Hump, but the Kings run all the way into October there.

Most of those SW WA rivers don't get pinks. Very very few go up the Columbia even. There is kings in there though. Float and eggs, big spinners, twitching jigs, etc... if you're from the bank. Give it shot, nothing wrong with wasting a little time on the river.
I hunt, therefore I am.... I fish, therefore I lie.
