Al there is load data on there for the 150-165-180 I told you that 2 days ago  :dunno: Take the load data and work off of it for the nosler bullet. That is what I did when I started loading for the 7mm mag and the barnes tipped TSX and it came together fast. :twocents:

I just read on another site that RL22 is what you need for 180's out of a 300 WSM. That's almost the slowest Reloader powder. Here's a link to the thread I found:

I have to say I didn't know what the hell I was talking about... I looked at the Alliant site and they state that the 17 is similar in burn speed to IMR 4350.

Which, I thought RL19 was real close to 4350. But anyway, yeah the RL17 ought to work good in the 300WSM then. I just assumed it was faster burning than the RL19. I still think the RL22 would be the best bet for 180 grain or heavier bullets. Or my all time favorite, H4831.

Ya I used to use 4350 in everything that I shot. But from I have been told you can get a bit more velocity than 4350 with the rl 17. I think I may give it a try when I run out of the 4350 stuff I already have loaded.

I don't want to work off of another bullet. I am not wildcatting... I want Nosler data or I would not have posted in this thread

the brand of bullet doesnt really matter to me much, just the weights. It gives you something to start with.

That's fine for you.. I like to start with best load tested from my reloading Manual. The powder will sit until I get good data. I don't have time to build load data for Nosler. I expect them to do it for me... :twocents:

well if your going to be stubborn about it call nosler and ask them what they know. I bet they are using the info on the speer bullets. :chuckle:

Tried that, they had no load data for it that they would share. And I am being patient, not stubborn... the powder does not have a use by date on it, so it will be there when Nosler gets off their asses. :chuckle:

I'm shootin a 325wsm.  Hav'nt tried RL17 yet but H4350 shoots real good with 150gr Hornady Interlocks and 200gr Nosler Accubonds.  Anyone else have a 325?  I'm starting to think I'm the only one in the state that does...

Sorry been off line for a bit. Shooting a M77 ruger, yes it is off alliant web site, speer bullets. I cant see any 180 grain bullet changing it that much. I dont mind messing with it a bit if I can improve ballistics. A friend of mine use 22 and is not getting the velosities as 17 is. Killbilly, your not building a load for nosler your doing for yourself.

hmmmm, M77. that is an interesting gun for sure. You dont here about wsm's all to often if ever being used in rugers. In fact this is a first for me. I need to do some looking around.

Well after some looking real quick I found some for sale. I wonder if the rcm will replace the wsm with the rugers. I always thought that ruger had a hard time chambering the wsm since there action did not like them. They must have figured it out. Cool gun for sure. I would hang on to that one.

Hi Accubond, see my post I made this evening, tried numerous loads and ended up with 68.5 grains RL17, 168 gr TTSX.  68.5 grouped better than 68 in my rifle.  Only tried a few loads using 180 grain bullets, very small sampling though, really didn't find one that shot well with the swifts but again, small sampling.  If you can't read Excel format let me know, I can export the data to a text file format.

Red Dawg, not sure if ruger still makes the wsm, I thought the rcm replaced it. Havent seen any for years. Actually won this one in a RMEF banquet.
