Fastest Camera No Hype
« on: May 16, 2009, 12:18:18 PM »
Searched but did not find what I was looking for.  I have a moultrie 4.0 infrared and it sucks IMO at getting the pic unless the animal spends a lot of time standing or moving around right in front of the camera.  I need one that will get the animal as it is travelling from A to B.  So what camera actually has the fastest trigger time?  Asking here because straight answers are given not marketing hype from manufacturers.

Reconyx and Predator camera's are the fastest rated cameras but you'll pay anywhere from $450 - $600 depending on which model you buy.  They're trigger speeds are from 1/5 sec to 1/2 sec.

A friend of mine that has way too much money has litterally tried every high end camera made and swears there's no better camera than the Reconyx.

I haven't talked myself into laying out that much cash yet...the key word is yet.  I really want a camera that doesn't require bait to get reliable pics.

:yeah: however the second best trigger speed is a real reasonably priced little camera called a Scout guard 550.

I bet these $140 home brew cameras would be right there with the fastest cameras on the market.

The homebrew is fast, but from what I am told the reconyx is the fastest.

found this on a search!

But like stated it's tuff to beat a Homebrew for resolution usually starting at a 7 meg camera and going to a 12 meg and soon to be more. there was a bunch of field tester's when the homebrew link was going this spring and several people had done trigger speed testing.
