This thread has sent me down a rabbit hole that I need to get out of. Currently, my 7" TBAC Ultra Gen 2 is in jail and should be out any day now (10 months post tax stamp hit). I was planning on hunting with it on my Christensen Ridgeline .300 wsm which is 24" + 7" = 30"-31" of barrel after it is threaded on. I found the following article extremely interesting to read about barrel lengths and the 300 win mag.

I was planning on building a 300 blackout of some sort once I got my can to shoot subsonic suppressed with because why the heck not? Now I'm thinking maybe build a hunting specific rifle with a 16.25" barrel in .308 win.

That TBAC 7 Gen 2 is next on my list!!! I went with the Gunwerks Six, when Silencer Shop was offering a free stamp (I'm a sucker for a "good deal"). Interesting article. I have seen similar ones on the 6.5 Creed, but never one on a 30 cal magnum. Another really good resource for this conversation is episode #128 of teh Backcountry Hunting Podcast. Its by far my favorite podcast, and he dives pretty deep into it, and breaks down a few calibers.

Free tax stamps really are one of the best deals that comes around regularly. It's just such a game of patience to wait for a the promotion knowing you still have a wait ahead of you.

Looks like I’ll be putting in for a Dead Air Nomad Ti pretty soon. ATF will be rolling out the Efile program before the end of the month making the application process faster. Gotta try and get mine before next season.

I can put one on back order for you if you haven't found one in stock.

All these forums do is cost me more money than I'll ever admit.  Bought a Tikka at Sportsman's Warehouse Wed. because they were on sale.

Ya, thanks Karl!  I don't really even know Karl but I blame everything Tikka related on him.  :chuckle: :chuckle:
