Have a buddy with the same theory. Didn't see anywhere nearby with domestics but couldn't completely rule it out.

Coming up on him I initially thought it was a very confused duck

Not a domestic, I’ve seen a few all white turkeys hunting before.  One of them I called in for my buddy, and he was the dominant Tom.  Watched them fly out of the roost that morning.  Not very pretty once you get up to them.

I've seen wild hens with white chicks...no domestics around here. They usually don't last long though...pretty easy target for great horned owls up in the roost. The four white ones I saw were all gone by Sept.

I saw a white one once with an orange saddle and tail. Down by Rock Lake. I have a tail feather off of it somewhere upstairs. Only saw it once and it was definitely a wild one. Domestic white birds cannot fly like a wild turkey.

I was surprised to see its lasted this long. Quite a survivor - though I suspect it spends most its time on private.

Seen a couple up my way this year, and they roost with a group of about 7 birds.  There used to be 2 in this group, I'm assuming the other one turned into owl pellets or coyote scat

Is anyone else disappointed to see the demise of albino or leucistic animals. Some woman in I think South Carolina shot an all white whitetail this year. I didn't think it was right shooting it. I don't know...

what isn’t right about it?  I saw nothing wrong with shooting the Tom we did, are you holding it to a higher standard just because it’s white?  It’s a genetic defect and there’s a reason they don’t last in the wild

There use to be three… there are no domestic turkeys remotely close. I can’t tell you where the closest domestic turkey is. Always seam to get the odd albino every other year. To have three this year was cool. Gonna try to make it 1

Albino Jake…. Both of them where Jake’s. Left one to live another day…

After further thought an notice the albinos are unfortunately not good for the flock, I think/feel. We’ve had a lot of fog and it is easy as heck both with or without the fog to spot the flock. They are smart and always hang in the middle third of the flock as pictured previously. One in the back third and one in the front third. Smart for them (albinos) but a predator can easily see the flock and would likely pick out a lead or trailing bird as the albinos are in the “middle”. Unscientifically proven of course, as the predator may just lock in on the white bird and take no business to the others but a thought.

Either way I’m thankful for the harvest and the feathers are going to a great use. Scheming what’s for dinner tonight!
