This year will be both my daughters (13 &10) first year hunting.  I haven't been this excited for a deer opener in a long time.  Can't wait to pass on the knowledge and build some awesome memories in the field.  Good luck to all our hunters, especially our youth this year.  Shoot straight, stay safe.

For me the best thing is passing on the knowledge and watching them be successful

Yes!!! That's awesome.  What great opportunities we have as fathers to teach our kids the right way. Truly and blessing.  My son is 10 and this is his first year too.  He thought it would be a good a idea to break his foot a month ago so plans have changed considerably.  Have a number of spots that could work on crutches or me carrying him (already weighs 101 lbs).  Will check them out Friday and let him decide where he wants to go.
He says he's not the missing the opener so here we go!!! Good luck to all and especially good luck to our youth hunters!

This will be a the start of many memories for you and your girls.  My son has been big game hunting for 4 years now and my daughter will be starting this year (Saturday).  Like said earlier.....you trigger finger will get some rest in the coming years.  Congrats and cherish every minute.

I take my son 14 now every year opening.
It's more about time spent together.
And just getting out there than harvest of anything.
Harvest is just a cherry on pile of ice cream feelings and memory and traditions you make.
