So excited for Saturday. Daughters first year hunting.
« on: October 14, 2021, 06:04:27 AM »
This year will be both my daughters (13 &10) first year hunting.  I haven't been this excited for a deer opener in a long time.  Can't wait to pass on the knowledge and build some awesome memories in the field.  Good luck to all our hunters, especially our youth this year.  Shoot straight, stay safe.

Very cool I understand the feeling my 2 daughters are my best hunting buddies
As you probably know it will be awhile before you get to pull the trigger again😁
For me the best thing is passing on the knowledge and watching them be successful
Have fun time in the field with family is the best thing ever
I'm your dam tour guide Arnie please don’t wonder off the dam tour.
Take as many dam pictures as you want ....
Are there any dam questions ..

Yes!!! That's awesome.  What great opportunities we have as fathers to teach our kids the right way. Truly and blessing.  My son is 10 and this is his first year too.  He thought it would be a good a idea to break his foot a month ago so plans have changed considerably.  Have a number of spots that could work on crutches or me carrying him (already weighs 101 lbs).  Will check them out Friday and let him decide where he wants to go.
He says he's not the missing the opener so here we go!!! Good luck to all and especially good luck to our youth hunters!

This will be a the start of many memories for you and your girls.  My son has been big game hunting for 4 years now and my daughter will be starting this year (Saturday).  Like said earlier.....you trigger finger will get some rest in the coming years.  Congrats and cherish every minute.

Totally agree......
I take my son 14 now every year opening.
It's more about time spent together.
And just getting out there than harvest of anything.
Harvest is just a cherry on pile of ice cream feelings and memory and traditions you make.

It will be my 15 year olds 6th year going with a tag of his own but he’s been tagging along since he was 4. I’m still just as excited for taking him out Saturday as I was for his first deer hunt. Good luck to everyone and especially all the youth out this weekend

Absolutely an awesome time!!! Take lots of pictures, make sure it is about them, make it fun and memorable outside the hunt. My wife posted a memory form 10 years ago, I took our daughter hunting, I told her to go buy us breakfast on the way over the mountains to hunt. She came out with Chex mix and Gatorade!!!! :yike: We still laugh about it and the memory coming up on the wife's Facebook feed was awesome!! The boy and I will head over in the morning, the daughter is busy adulting, but i asked tonight if she would go and she said "if you wake me up, I am there Dad!" Not this year but I know we will hunt again for deer. I certainly will get her out for birds!

Good luck to all of you and all of yours! Be safe and make awesome memories even with the fires and issues facing our deer herds.

Hunting takes on a whole different meaning when you start hunting with your own kids. Combining two things that bring you so much joy is so AWESOME!!!! Enjoy every second of it
