Killing Ducks Falcon Style
« on: November 11, 2007, 02:28:53 PM »
Had a chance to go out with a friend/co-worker today with his Gyre falcon and brought my boy along to witness a different way to get a duck.. He was very impressed let alone very excited..

Here are a few shots of the morning hunt.

"Right now, I am thinking that If my grandmother was here, she would be lecturing me about how there are poor people in Africa, that would just love to have a Ruger, I would just say "Great, granny, lets just ship all the Rugers to Africa!"

It sounds like it's time to get a new gun.

thats about as cool as it gets...i don't care who you are.
:fire.:

" In today's instant gratification society, more and more pressure revolves around success and the measurement of one's prowess as a hunter by inches on a score chart or field photos produced on social media. Don't fall into the trap. Hunting is-and always will be- about the hunt, the adventure, the views, and time spent with close friends and family. " Ryan Hatfield

Last year I was sitting next to a little beaver pond out in the woods, the pond had some mallards and teal that frequented it.So here I am squating in the cattails watching the sky over my spread.Off to the north I spy 8 or so mallards coming in,landing gear dropping,I'm ready, here they come, safety off(click)......then all of a sudden out of a tree comes a hawk, not sure what kind but big like a red tail and wham grabs a mallard right out of the sky :o,the rest of the flock flared off,no shooting >:(,but that was one of the gnarliest things I'ld ever seen,I was out ducked by a master that day.
