First Muzzleloader Elk Season experience

I was fortunate to get invited to elk camp by some good people at work. Was a great experience even if nothing was harvested. Definitely had my coolest close elk encounter. I was set up and had a 6x6 walk straight at me to within 10 yards while I had my rifle up froze in place hoping a spike was with him. Head down tongue out he just walked around me and kept moving. Then about 60 sec later the 6x7 in the video and a cow came out of the bush a little further out, at about 30 yards. Anyways just thought Id share my first experience. Hopefully, with my multiseason permit, I'll have another opportunity during modern or late muzzle. Either way a great experience with friends new and old.

Very cool!  I once had a big 5x5 almost step on me when I cow-called him in.  Of course, he had four too many points per side for me to take!   :chuckle:  Elk hunting is a blast, even without an elk on the ground!

Thanks for sharing.
