We did pick up an Oak Creek set of matched 7x7's for ($92.68) total and a bleached 5x5 skull for the barn. Also an Oak creek Single 6 point for ($69.51) I'll post some pictures of ours later.........

An interesting set from bull #135 who dropped these in the feed lot at 11:00 am Feb. 24, 2003. The set went with the plaque. This set was in the visitors center until it was replaced by one that dropped earlier in Feb. this year which is now diplayed in the visitors center in this ones place.

And, a picture of my wife and I.............

The picture 007 is the pack of 3 right sides that my buddy bought. How much did that set with the plaque go for?

Did you go up for the opener? Did you find any? I found a few, between me and three buddies our total was only 8. I only saw one guy that did really well. For the most part it looked like about one shed for every 3-4 hunters.

I don't know for sure on that set with the plaque, but my wife thinks it was close to or over $200.

Daing.  Do they do this auction every year?  Think I should have gone.

This is the first time Michelle. According to the F&G guys I talked with, they will evaluate the success of this auction to determine whether they'll do it again. But based on the money they raised, my guess is that they will try it again next year.

If anyone came to this auction looking for a good deal, I don't think there were any deals to be had. I believe most sheds went above market value as far as price/pound. Mostly, the folks doing the bidding seemed happy to walk away with a souvenir/memento of the event. I did see quite a few with raised eye brows as to how much some of these sold for.

No matter how you feel about this event, one thing is for sure..... they will be able to buy a lot of feed with the money raised.
