Life Jacket for fishing n waterfowl
« on: November 01, 2021, 02:54:10 PM »
Looking for a personal flotation device for fishing and waterfowl so I need one that won't restrict me from shooting a shotgun. Any real world recommendations? Thanks, 253shotgunner

I would get a kayak jacket.  My inflatable is puffy right where my gun would shoulder.

I would wear one while running the boat, but would take it off when hunting.

If you go the inflatable route make sure the inflator mechanism is on the opposite side you shoulder your gun. I bought several of the camo inflatable from Cabelas and when they arrived they were right hand shooter incompatible.  But that's what I use and also require anyone hunting with me to use.

I use life jackets to and from where im hunting. I had an inflatable... until it hit the water in the bottom of the boat and went off.

2nd the kayak vest. Mine is a tan Cabelas brand. No shooting issues and really works nice for stuffing cold hands into.
