Never hunted it but just looking online your biggest piece of public land in that unit burned over the summer. Was just over east side in WA looking across snake last week and it’s still pretty black. Some green starting to come back but I’d still think it less than ideal but that’s just my 2 cents which is worth probably about 1 cent 🤣

My son and his buddy who drew an elk tag and finally filled it after 14 days of hunting on a nice 5 point actually saw very few deer the fire burned up a large portion of the public land, I wish I could give you more insight into this unit. Having said this I am sure there are still deer in the area just might be a little harder to find.

Yea. We bought our tags before the burn. I called idaho fish and game to see if we could refund or exchange tags.. no luck. So we are going to try it.

I've seen a few pics of some studs already being killed in this years fresh burns. I'd imagine a lot of that fire was low intensity and quick moving in that country, good luck

My buddy was working in the burn area quite a bit doing some forestry work and didn’t see many animals. Expect salvage logging operations if you’re going to be hunting Craig Mountain part of unit 11.

Don't turn your tag in. 11's bucks are doing just fine even with the burn. :twocents:

Do you have a mule deer tag or whitetail?

I know someone who lives down there whos daughter had the early tag. They had 0 issues seeing bucks. Passed dozens and killed a 180’s gross buck in the new burn
