There are fishers in WA, on the Penninsula, or were some ten years ago. Game Dept. trapped some in BC and released them. I never saw one but saw their unmistakeable tracks in snow several times. Haven't seen any lately.Fishers have an odd gait when travelling, kind of a quartering sideways lope, like a plane crabbing into the wind. Any set of four tracks is set off I'd guess 20-30 degrees from the direction of travel. Very distinctive if you see enough tracks to show the pattern and not just one paw print.
I don’t think Fishers are supposed to be in Washington. Long and short tailed Weasels, Mink and Otter abound though.
